Kirk Ritter discovered his love for boats and the ocean when he took a course in Tropical Marine Biology aboard the Westward out of Woods Hole, MA in 1989 and started in the marine service industry in 1991. In 1995 he started working at Morris Yachts and developed the service paint and varnish department from a one person crew to a crew of 10+ with 2 dedicated Awlgrip bays. In 2002, he started and ran Dirigo Yacht Finishes, which provided top quality marine finishes for high end yachts. Kirk returned to Morris Yachts in 2007, moving to the position of Service Manager in 2009. In October, 2015 Kirk accepted the position of Service Manager with John Williams Boat Co.
Friends and colleagues describe him as very inquisitive and determined. He has taken advantage of many opportunities for continued learning, including ABBRA’s Marine Service Management course. Although he is now in management, Kirk will still spin out the brushes from time to time to help with some of the difficult paint and varnish jobs.
