The INTERNATIONAL MARINE CERTIFICATION INSTITUTE (IMCI) is your notified body in Europe for CE certification of boats, engines and components according to the Recreational Craft Directive of the EU.

  • has a 30 member Board from 20 countries (including the USA) representing manufacturers and users

  • has a net of 52 Inspectors covering 24 countries

  • runs a cost reducing one-stop joint inspection program with NMMA for combined US/EU certification

  • runs an ABYC Component Certification program

  • is recognized for World Sailing certification

IMCI is also running the IMCI BLUE STAR MARINA certification program. This program presents a transparent system to indicate the quality level of marinas through 3rd party assessment. Our Marina Certification program uses a number range between 1 and 5 stars to indicate the quality of certified marinas. The program is designed for all marinas regardless of size and or location.

    Watercraft inspections for the NMMA Boat & Yacht Certification Program in order to help manufacturers ensure their boats are built to applicable ABYC standards and fulfilling all US Coast Guard requirements.

    • The NMMA Boat and Yacht Certification Program is owned by the NMMA and goes beyond the minimum USCG standards by ensuring adherence to the American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) Standards.

    Although NMMA Boat and Yacht Certification is voluntary it is the best protection against litigation in the USA. The Program is highly recommended!
