    Pacer Group's custom 4/0 AWG Red Battery Cable Assemblies are made to order. How are they manufactured? They are made using Pacer Group's UL approved marine cables. The cables are cut to length using a precision cut and strip machine. This allows for accurate and repeatable cuts. After the cable is at the desired length, the next step is terminating the ends. Pacer Group uses a hydraulic-pneumatic crimper to create an unbeatable gas tight crimp. When the terminals are properly crimped, the next step is to add epoxy-lined heat shrink. The heat shrink is used to create a moisture and air tight connection.

    This process creates superior battery cable assemblies. These assemblies are designed to outlive the battery itself. Pacer Group manufactures 4/0 AWG Red Battery Cable Assemblies with the boater in mind. They are easy to bend and route and offer excellent durability and flexibility. They are also built to withstand the harshest marine conditions possible. They are resistant to Acid, Alkali, Abrasion, Flame, Gasoline, Oil and Moisture.     Creating a strong connection is essential to every electrical system. By using closed end lugs you get not only durability but longevity as well. Pacer Group's closed end lugs are tin plated and have no exposed seams. This means that they are ideal for marine applications. What makes them ideal is the fact that they can be used to create waterproof connections. When used with epoxy heat shrink, the closed end lug will fully envelop the conductor. This leaves nothing exposed to the elements.

    To use, simply strip your wire or cable to the proper length. Once this is complete, slide the lug over the exposed wire making sure the insulation butts up to the edge of the lug. Now, crimp the lug using the correct tool and you're done. Add epoxy lined heat shrink for added durability. Pacer Group's closed end lugs are available in 8 AWG to 4/0 AWG wire sizes.     How do you use heat shrink butt splices? Well, you start by prepping your wires. This includes cutting and striping the wires to the correct length. Each butt splice has an indentation inside of it in the center where your wires should meet. So now, you insert the wire into the butt splice until the tip touches the indentation. Using the proper tool, you will crimp the side of the butt splice creating a solid connection. Repeat this process on the other side. Now, perform a tug test to make sure that the wires do not pull out. Once you are satisfied, use the proper heat gun or torch to correctly heat the outer heat shrink. If you see bubbles or discoloration in the wire insulation or the heat shrink you are using too much heat. That or your tool is too close.
