Blue Guard Innovations, LLC (BGI) is formed from over 50 years of combined experience, innovation, dedication, and excellence in introducing innovative products to global markets. Our company headquarters and R&D team are located in Broomfield, CO, with manufacturing operations in San Diego, CA.

BGI has introduced new products for boat and ship bilge pump control. The BG-One (Smart Bilge Pump Switch with Oil and Fuel Detector) turns the bilge pump off when oil or fuel is detected, preventing contamination of our harbors, bays, lakes, seas, and waterways while, at the same time, saving thousands of dollars in fines to boat owners and operators.

  • The Solid-State Bilge Pump Switch with High Water Alarm (BG-SWA) will turn the bilge pump ON when water or any liquid is detected and turn OFF when no water or liquid is detected. Pump run time is adjustable from 15-60 seconds (15 seconds factory default). Built-in splash protection to prevent false activation in rough waters - adjustable and can be disabled.

    Integrated High Water Alarm: If the BG-SWA continues to sense liquid after turning the pump ON it will activate the alarm output (1 Amp max). This could indicate that the bilge pump is either overwhelmed with excessive rising water or not working. Based upon bilge and pump size, the user can configure the alarm activation delay from 3-10 seconds (3 seconds factory default).

  • With precise oil and fuel detection accuracy down to 1 mm (0.04 in), the BG-One minimizes the boat owners’ liability for costly cleanup and possible fines through selective pumping. Multiple modes of operation to work in any environment, such as in marine sanctuaries where the pump should be completely disabled at the first sign of contamination. Adjustable pump run times for normal (15-60 seconds, 15 seconds factory default) and after oil detection (3-10 seconds, 3 seconds factory default)).       • Mode B (Marine Sanctuary): Pump will turn ON when water is detected and turn OFF when oil or fuel is detected. Pump will remain OFF until the alarm and bilge is cleared (requires power cycling of device).

      • Standard Mode (High Seas): Pump will turn ON when any liquid is detected and turn OFF when there is no liquid detected.

  • The Blue Guard Innovations High Water Alarm System includes a BG-HW (High Water Sensor) and a BG-AP-1 (High Water Alarm).

    High Water Sensor (BG-HW)

    The USCG 46 CFR 28.250 & 182.530 compliant BG-HW detects salt or fresh water and can be easily integrated into any vessel’s alarm system. Water in any compartment of a vessel is a potential crisis. Early warnings of water entering the hull or leaking from plumbing is extremely important for the safety of the vessel and passengers. As soon as water is detected, the BG-HW will activate the alarm output (1 Amp max). Configurable splash protection - disabled by factory default.

  • The Oil and Fuel Detector (BG-Oil) senses the presence of oil and fuel and can be easily integrated into any vessel’s alarm system. Place the BG-Oil in a strategic location, such as the engine, fuel or steering compartment where puddling of oil/fuel is most likely to occur. Installing the BG-Oil will provide an early warning for spills in these environments. With precise oil and fuel detection accuracy down to 1 mm (0.04 in), the BG-Oil triggers an alarm when oil or fuel is detected (1 Amp max).

    • Connects to any 12, 24 or 32 Vdc alarm panel

  • Advanced Bilge Control Panel
    All the essential functions for your bilge in one panel....

  • The Advanced Bilge Control Panel (BG-CP-A) is an important and compact way to display and monitor bilge pump functions at the bridge of the vessel. All the essential functions of a bilge pump system are at the crew’s finger tips. The control panel has one alarm detection LED with an accompanying 83 dB sound output audio alarm. The alarm can be used as a high water alarm, oil detection alarm, or any other available alarm on the vessel (e.g. fire).

    The BG-CP-A includes a dedicated pump counter, an easy to read 4-digit display with a reset button, and a fuse holder located on the front panel. The illuminated three position pump switch has OFF, Auto, and momentary Manual override functions. The display shows the live voltage, then cycles through bilge pump count, run time, input voltage, and output current. The control panel also features three different brightness settings for the display and on-board memory to store the pump count in the event of a power outage to the panel. 

    • Green LED indicates the pump is running

    • Red LED indicates an alarm

    • Four digit display (pump counter, voltage, current, pump run time)

    • Audible 83 dB alarm

    • Optional mute switch terminals

    • Operating voltage is 12, 24 or 32 Vdc

    • Fuse 25 amps max, 20 amps continuous
